Unlike the American New Year celebration, the Chinese New Year will be celebrated on February 16, 2018 and marks the beginning of a new lunar according to the traditional Chinese calendar rather than the Gregorian calendar.

The annual Chinese holiday is known as the Lunar New Year or the Spring Festival. Each year is represented by a zodiac animal on the lunar-solar Chinese calendar. As China ushers out 2017 as the Year of the Rooster, citizens are readying to welcome 2018 as the Year of the Dog. The Spring Festival in China is celebrated for several months as a time to gather with family and hope for good fortune in the upcoming year.

The 2018 Chinese New Year celebration will end with the Spring Lantern Festival on March 2, 2019.

The Chinese Horoscope 2018 predicts that this year of the Brown Earth Dog is going to be a good year in all respects, but it will also be an exhausting year. You will be happy, yet frustrated, rested, yet tired, cheerful, yet dull!

Planning, postponing and negligence are words you will need to remove from your vocabulary during this year.

Refreshed and regenerated, the Dog will accelerate the initiation of all things, but this will bring, in the same time, pressure and stress in the everyday life.

2018 is Male Earth Dog. Male Earth is connected to dry soil, wall, mound or

mountains implies the events related to land, real estate, county territory, agriculture, earthquake, mineral and the Earth will be more active than before. In Chinese astrology, Earth is also connected to stability, meditation and religion. Many people will be interested in spiritual or religious study.

The mountain of 2018 appearing in the front of us means something is blocking our view or our path. That's a sign of obstacle. We need to climb over it to see the other world. So we need to find a flat road around the mountains to find our way. Either way, we need to take extra effort to reach our destination. Therefore, 2018 is a challenge year for many people. We need to use our wisdom to find the better way to conquer the mountains. If you can do it, then you will be ahead of many others. If you cannot, then you will behind the world.

The mountains of 2018 are related to stability, slowness, stubborn, laziness and conservativeness. If you are too lazy and lack of the diligent spirit, then you will miss career or money opportunity.

2018 EARTH DOG YEAR<empty>

The new Moon in Aquarius on February 15, 2018 at 1:05 pm PST, also a solar eclipse, begins the year of the Earth Dog. The eclipse adds intensity, and what is hidden comes to light this year under the gaze of the watchful Dog.

Dog year is a time of fairness and equality. Controversial issues are given their due, revolutions are successful, politics are liberal, and political oppression is opposed. Integrity and honesty are the values that lead to success under Dogs watchful and just influence.

Dog Personality

In Chinese society, Dogs are the favored domestic animal because they are so loyal to their owners. And like a Dog, those born in the year of the Dog possess the admirable canine qualities of loyalty and integrity.

Honest and trustworthy, Dog makes an excellent friend and will always take your side. Only Dog will loyally stand by when others have abandoned a cause. Dog won't hesitate to make sacrifices for people and ideas they believe in. Dog has a strong sense of fair play, and honors commitments.

Direct and frank, Dog does not pay much attention to superficial details and has little patience for frivolity. Yet Dog likes to be spontaneous. Dog can be hot-blooded and emotional, and prefers to react to rather than plan for a situation. Dog prefers to live an impeccable life, a life filled with principles and dignity, always willing to be a crusader for a noble ideology.
